For more than two decades, live music has been an integral part of summers on Manhattan’s west side. This season, we are thrilled to welcome back music in HRPK and celebrate the sounds of summer!

Free music events in Hudson River Park this year feature a wide variety of returning favorites – classic HRPK series and several brand new events. We hope you’ll join us to savor live riverfront performances in your west side backyard.

Sunset on the Hudson makes its return to in-person shows this July, kicking off at one of the Park’s newest destinations with Alsarah and the Nubatones at HRPK’s Pier 26. The series showcases a wide variety of local artists performing throughout the four mile footprint of the Park, not just at Pier 45!

This year’s line-up features, among others, The Big Takeover, a reggae world band led by powerhouse singer and songwriter NeeNee Rushie; Yasser Tejeda, a Dominican fusion group giving traditional folkloric music a new spin; and Coco & Breezy, Park favorites and extraordinary twin sisters who spin house, R&B, pop and Afro-Latino grooves. See fantastic performances while finding a new favorite corner of our riverfront oasis.

Jazz at Pier 84 is back in Hell’s Kitchen with twice the live shows! We’re proud to partner for the fifth year with Jazz Foundation of America, whose mission is to create work opportunities and provide emergency assistance in times of crisis to blues, jazz and roots musicians.

This collaborative series features legends like Abdou Mboup & Waakaw, a longtime ambassador of Senegal’s musical tradition and a performer who marries jazz with a virtuosic mastery of the West African kora; Firey String Sistas! a compelling group pushing the limits of string, ensemble playing, and improvisation to the next level and many more. Enjoy these performances every other Wednesday at Hudson River Park’s Pier 84.

New this season are co-presented performances at HRPK. Join us Wednesday, July 21 on Pier 64 for a live performance of After the Storm, presented in partnership with Contemporaneous. This collaborative piece by composer Yaz Lancaster, fingerstyle guitarist Yasmin Williams and artist Alex Weiser is a stunning celebration of the power of live music to carry our stories through time and foster shared communal experience.

Also coming  in September to Hudson River Park’s Pier 63 is a  screening of BREATHING FREE, presented in partnership with Heartbeat Opera, a stunning visual album focusing on Black empowerment in the arts and featuring the voices of more than 100 incarcerated singers and 70 volunteers from six prison choirs: Oakdale Community Choir, KUJI Men’s Chorus, UBUNTU Men’s Chorus, HOPE Thru Harmony Women’s Choir, East Hill Singers, and Voices of Hope.

Whether you’re returning to the Park to enjoy performances from your favorites or exploring new genres and artists, we’re thrilled to have you back for concerts in the Park. Join us on a journey of music through all the beautiful riverfront spaces we fill with sound in Hudson River Park.
